Our Story
WHADAFUNK is a DIY streetwear brand founded by John Gutierrez in New York. What started in a basement evolved into a movement rooted in originality, art, and street culture that is worn & represented across the world.
From hand-drawn designs to hand-printed shirts, each piece is built with intention and hustle. Our journey has taken us from pop-ups in New York to the shelves of over 500+ Zumiez locations across the country & Canada.

Every design begins as a raw sketch, no templates, no shortcuts. This is pure, original creativity.
🖐️ Screen-Printed by Hand
We keep it real with hand-pulled screen printing. Our shirts aren’t mass produced they’re made with love and ink.
📦 Limited Drops
All releases are limited runs. If you miss it, it’s gone. Collect, wear, and rep something rare.
Milestones
- ~2015 – First shirt hand-printed by us.
- 2018 – First beanies in Zumiez
- 2019 – First skate deck released
- 2022 – Featured in Peekskill Open Studios
